During the catastrophic fire in Crans-Montana, emergency and rescue services in Valais gave everything they had.
The entire rescue chain was deployed from the very first response: from emergency call centres and first responders to militia paramedics, rescue services, air rescue, police, fire brigades and civil protection.
Together with associations of emergency organisations, Federal Councillor Beat Jans and State Councillor Mathias Reynard, helfen helfen Schweiz honours these women and men with the National Recognition Award «Helfende Hand».
The award will be presented for the first time on 8 December 2026 at the Berne Military Barracks, organised by volunteers and funded by donations.
